How long would the war itself go on?

If you are a video game fanatic like myself and you've been with the fallout series for a while then you might know that their theory is that "The Great War" as they call it (the releasing of the nukes) would only have lasted 2 hours and in that case we would have to be more worried about the aftermath of the war than the war itself. Of course, that is assuming anyone survives...

It is a very valid point. The radiation alone would be enough to kill off any survivals, and if not they would die very soon aftet from radiation poisoning. Only surviving place in this world would be australia XD

Theres missle silos the people have bought and made incase of a war suck as this, they are well made and have self producing power gens. If UV lights were used people can use them to grow plants from seeds and depending on the plant get more seeds, having plants would help produce O2 "air" filters and Air ducts could be set up to keep the under ground missle silo at a fair temp. gear incase people need to go above ground would be help-ful 10days after the war. "i say 10 days because it would give the ash settle." A room near the front stairs would be used to clean off waste etc.."

Missle Silo's were intended to take damage if needed since they would be a high target but since there not used anymore there not high high targets since the military sold them

So....what should we do if the war happend?
